First 'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 Tease Officially Released

Kit Harington stars as Jon Snow on the HBO hit series "Game of Thrones".

The trailer shows a sweeping map of Westeros with a statue of a wolf being taken over by snow. The above video is bittersweet in a way because it's a sign that we are actually getting closer to the release of Season 8, however, absent from the video is any actual footage from the show's upcoming swan song.

Plot details for the eighth season remain under wraps, however, the final six episodes will serve as a conclusion to the epic series.

We're just four months away from "Game of Thrones'" final season premiere, and the show's "newest teaser" just might hold us over.

At the end of last season, Daenerys' (Emilia Clarke) dragons and her vast army were finally on the way to Westeros, where Cersei (Lena Headey) has now become Queen after the death of her children.

Our resident "Game of Thrones" expert, Kim Renfro, will be back next year to cover the final season of "Game of Thrones".

"It's an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do - which is flipping this kind of story on its head".

"I know that I can say this: If you're a fan of the show, you will be completely satisfied by where the series goes to".

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO in April.
