Apple Is Now Selling Clear $39 iPhone Xr Cases

Over the past few weeks, multiple reports claimed that iPhone XR isn't selling as well as Apple had hoped, which led to the company cutting back on shipping estimates and considering lowering the price of the smartphone in some regions.

More than a month later, the iPhone XR Clear Case has suddenly materialized on Apple.com with a price tag of $39. This states that the Smart Battery Case will be compatible with the new iPhone models including the iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR and possibly last year's iPhone X as well. Once the offer ends, the replacement of battery in iPhone 6 and later versions will cost around $49 (Around Rs 3,500) except iPhone X. Apple will charge $69 for an iPhone X battery replacement.

But as the footnote at the bottom of the site explains, " $449 reflects [the] price of iPhone XR after trade-in of iPhone 7 Plus ...

How much does this promotion helps in increasing iPhone XR's sales, is something that remains to be seen.

Apple appears to have also updated the marketing terminology and style on its website with new descriptions of iPhone XR and iPhone XS features, as pointed out by 9to5Mac. In the abstract slogan's place, Apple now lists several major features, including its "All-screen design".

The iPhone battery replacement program is valid worldwide including India. "Fastest Performance. Studio-quality photos" to describe the mid-range iPhone XR.

"What has made the success of Apple, a concentrated portfolio of highly desirable (and pricey) products, is now facing the reality of market saturation", HSBC analysts wrote in a note to investors.
