Hootie & the Blowfish, Barenaked Ladies to play show in MA

Lead singer Darius Rucker told the TODAY Show Monday morning they are writing songs for a new album.

When Hootie & the Blowfish revealed they were reuniting for their Group Therapy Tour and new music, fans immediately took to social media to celebrate the announcement, including Sugarland's Kristian Bush.

Barenaked Ladies will also be joining the tour.

Hootie & the Blowfish, which also includes Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, met at the University of SC in the late '80s, and began playing in local bars. The band will tour 44 cities starting May 30.

Hootie and the Blowfish will kick off next year's Great Minnesota Get-Together. "I've seen you tour 5 times". "We've been a band for pretty much 30 years now".

Hootie & the Blowfish are touring the country, and they plan to stop at the Walmart AMP next July, along with their special guests, the pop group Barenaked Ladies. "We've never stopped being a band".

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 7. Bryan adds, "There's nothing like playing music live".
