Victoria Beckham will not be joining the group because she wants to focus on her fashion line. The news that Beckham wasn't involved in the tour didn't come as a surprise to most fans as she has refuted reunion rumours for years.
But yesterday many faced the prospect of missing out on the girl band's upcoming Spice World tour unless they were prepared fork out extra for a "Zig a Zig Ah" VIP upgrade.
I'm glad for everyone who is excited that the Spice Girls are back, but I'll tell you something: their return hit me with a mild feeling of foreboding. I saw them at O2 Arena in 2008, and they recently announced a new tour and I will be going to that somehow.
In a new taped interview for The Jonathan Ross Show, which will air in the United Kingdom on Saturday, Mel C says, "Do you know what is actually quite amusing?"
"But she did raise the point that she was never actually asked".
When Emma suggested Victoria had been asked, Geri continued: "She just didn't want to do it..." "She's busy with her fashion, she's moved on".
They last performed together during the 2012 Olympics in London.
Now Beckham's bandmates have revealed that they technically didn't ask her to join the tour.
"I think it may be easier because when everyone around you can be like, 'That sounded insane, ' then you can fix it", she said of her co-stars who helped her improve the accent. We support her and she has been a huge part of our lives and we care about her so it's all good...
"I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what, now I am", Stone said on "The Tonight Show".
"We care about each other, we support each other and we support her", Horner added.
