With a $30 price, it is fair to assume that the sound quality on the AirDots won't be anywhere near the AirPods. With the new Mi AirDots, Xiaomi has introduced its first true-wireless earphones which feature all the run-of-the-mill features we've come to expect from such accessories. You get 4 hours of audio time per charge, and the case can recharge the AirDots three times for a total of 12 hours of battery life. The company just scheduled a NY event yesterday, with "notable celebrities" and promises to showcase its latest and greatest products. These new AirPods come with model numbers A2031 and A2032 which could correspond to the left and right AirPod with the models having already completed the Bluetooth Qualification process.
The AirDots Youth Edition will also be supporting two-way wake-ups and with the aggressive pricing from Xiaomi, it will be interesting how it will be competing with other wireless headsets in the market. The AirDots are digital assistant enabled when paired with a Xiaomi smartphone, such as the Mi 8. However, their sale will begin starting November 11 through Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning. Connectivity is updated to Bluetooth 5.0, which is backward compatible with earlier versions such as 4.2 and takes full advantage of the connectivity improvements offered by this standard. The earpieces need to be placed back in their box for charging, and when that is done, they automatically disconnect, shut down and start charging.
The Mi AirDots Youth Edition can deliver up to four hours of playback time in stereo mode and up to five hours of playback time in mono mode on a single charge, if what Xiaomi claims is to be believed. Also, Xiaomi has put in a touchscreen on both the earphones using which wearers will be able to answer calls, pause the music and much more.
