At a beachside campsite, the local iwi, or tribe, welcomed Harry and Meghan with a traditional ceremony accompanied by the blowing of a conch shell.
The British royals were met with blasts from a conch shell before a traditional Maori greeting was performed in their honour as they arrived at the Abel Tasman National Park.
The event, at Government House, also saw members of the New Zealand Defence Force perform a haka for the couple.
