Selena Gomez in treatment after breakdown, lupus complications

Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend was reportedly released from a local Los Angeles hospital, but was readmitted days later because her blood cell count remained low, sending her into an emotional crisis.

Selena Gomez is in treatment for mental health issues after being hospitalized twice in the last two weeks, TMZ reports.

Gomez previously shared her struggles with mental health issues in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, detailing that she suffers from anxiety and depression.

Currently, Selena is receiving dialectical behavior therapy at a psychiatric facility on the East Coast, which she has received before. The disease got so serious in 2017, that she had to have a kidney transplant.

"Selena is freaking out about this", a source close to the "Slow Down" singer told Radar over the summer.

After she was admitted the second time, she reportedly had "a meltdown" and "freaked out". She's gone through it before, so it's not a completely new experience for the actor and singer. She apparently wanted to leave the hospital during her latest stay but doctors refused to let her go. Another added, "I love her with my whole heart". Gomez didn't attend the American Music Awards last night and the site notes that her team has been virtually silent recently.

In addition to still being anxious about her best friend, the source told Radar tonight, she is still reeling over ex-boyfriend Bieber's quickie engagement and marriage to Hailey Baldwin just months after their split.

Prior to leaving social media, Gomez revealed in a live Instagram session that she had felt consumed by her depression for five years. Her message referred to the hurtful impact of "negative comments".
