The Pixel 3 will be available October 18 and sell at prices starting at $799. Both Lenovo and JBL have released their own smart displays, but Google's is a bit different. The primary aim of the Hub is to control your smart home with a single device.
It turns into a smart display when not in use, showing information to such as time, weather, calendar appointments, and commute times. Increasingly, it seems likely that whatever company gets an initial foothold in your home, that will drive future purchasing decisions. Also, Google has added wireless charging this time around.
The iPhone also features Google's search engine, but Google may be paying Apple as much as $9 billion annually for that privilege, based on the estimates of Goldman Sachs analyst Rod Hall.
Google's yearly hardware event launch is now over and the "Made by Google" brand of devices has now expanded.
For instance, the camera's features for better shots will take advantage of software on the device itself, so that nothing gets sent to Google's servers - unless you enable a backup feature with Google Photos.
There were also some non-camera related features announced. When you do, you're basically just getting a phone as if it were purchased from the Google Store, but it comes ready to rock with your Project Fi account if you have one already.
Google's all-new Chrome OS operating system is created to deliver a handheld Chrome experience presented in more of a desktop package. Both devices can be connected to the Slate via Bluetooth.
But the biggest thing that's going to catch your eye will be the reimagined Chrome OS interface that's actually built for a tablet form factor, not a laptop.
Pixel phones offer a "pure Android" experience that continues to be a huge draw for hardcore Android fans who don't want all the software bells and whistles that vendors like Samsung and other phone makers add to their handsets. There is an optional keyboard case for the Slate, but it costs extra.
The Slate has a custom "molecular display", which is an LCD with a resolution of 3000 x 2000 and 400 nits of brightness.
Of course, we should mention that Facebook has also gone on a misguided journey to try to install its all-seeing hardware into your home, launching its Portal earlier this month: a video conferencing device that works with Amazon's Alexa digital assistant. Instead, it has dual Type-C ports like the Pixelbook. Otherwise, it's more or less the same gadget as before, at the same price. The M3 is $799, the i5 is $999, and i7 is $1599.
The Google Pixel 3 is priced at ₹ 71,000 for the 64GB internal storage variant while 128GB variant is priced at ₹ 80,000. The Pixel 3 XL will officially be the most expensive Android phone sold in the country. Both phones feature a Snapdragon 845 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and either 64 or 128GB of storage. You will be able to switch cameras to take wide-angle selfies. The feature launches in the USA today, and it will come to other Pixel devices next month. It has a taller 18:9 screen ratio, meaning smaller bezels and more display in the same footprint.
