Jimmy Butler Erupted With Mean-Spirited Trash Talk At Timberwolves Practice

I have heard from people around the league that Tucker is not available in the deal, Houston knows it lost a lot of defense this off-season (Trevor Ariza, Luc Mbah a Moute) and doesn't feel it can give more away, even in a Butler trade (Butler absolutely would help their wing defense).

Jimmy Butler has requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, but that didn't stop him from practicing with his teammates Wednesday and creating quite the scene.

Butler had not practiced with the team since September 25 when training camp started.

"Miami had softened on including guard Josh Richardson in versions of a possible deal for Butler, only to recoil once Minnesota pushed late for a sweeter return on the four-time All-Star forward, league sources said".

Butler arguably is a top 10 National Basketball Association player.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Heat remain interested in restarting trade talks with the Wolves after the deal that seemed close to happening collapsed on Saturday.

In what may be a good sign for the Wolves, though, Wojnarowski reported via Twitter that Butler practiced with the team today. These probably aren't the actions teams that have interest in him, either via trade or when he's a free agent next summer, want to see. According to Krawczyinski, Minnesota is "making preparations to start the season with Butler on the roster".

Except for this trade, the Timberwolves responded with an amendment to the framework of the deal, according to Wojnarowski, which caused the trade talks to "fracture".

The T-Wolves' first game of the season is on Wednesday when they visit the San Antonio Spurs.

Butler was vociferous and emotional at times, targeting president/coach Tom Thibodeau, general manager Scott Layden and teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, league sources said.
