The 5 questions Jose Mourinho answered

MANCHESTER, England- Jose Mourinho has admitted Manchester United's dismal run of form is unacceptable but says his players are better than their start to the season suggests. This is their worst start to a league campaign in nearly three decades.

The Portuguese said there were "many reasons" for the winless run, but declined to explain what they were. When probed to elaborate, Mourinho staunchly retorted "No".

"I am not at Old Trafford any more, I am not at the training ground, I don't speak with the manager or the players, but looking from the outside, it's not good to see how they're performing right now", Berbatov said.

It ultimately provides another indication that Mourinho's time in Manchester is nearly certainly up.

The United boss held a three-minute press conference on Friday morning where he only answered questions about Saturday's game against Newcastle.

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has reportedly reached breaking point with Jose Mourinho, and has held discussions with his agent about resolving the situation.

However, when asked to name some of these reasons, Mourinho declined to outline any of them.

Manchester United and Newcastle are both in desperate need of three points on Saturday but all the omens point to a win for the home side. To do that we need points, points we lost in the last two Premier League matches.

"I know we are in the beginning of October and we look to tables all around Europe and in numerous leagues the tables in September, October, they don't reflect what is going to happen in a few months later or even in the end of the season".

Mourinho's relationship with star man Paul Pogba is under strain, while Antonio Valencia apologised after he liked an Instagram post calling for the manager's head.

"And we know that to improve that position, we need to win these three points".

However, nearly everybody associated with United won't be pleased about the phone call and will likely do everything in their power to keep him at the club.

"So we expect a hard match".

Is it time to repay the fans after one home win since opening day?
