Jurgen Klopp hails brilliant Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet

STAR MAN - It was only a 45 minute display from Shaqiri on his first competitive start for Liverpool, but the Swiss global certainly showed the fans, and Klopp, what he was capable of.

Liverpool have maintained their 100% start to the season.

This is a vital period for Liverpool, a test of how far it has come from last season, of how effectively those three big doubts have been answered.

Klopp revealed at the time that it was merely a bruise he had picked up earlier in the week ahead of the Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, Klopp praised Simon Mignolet after confirming the goalkeeper will play in Wednesday's Carabao Cup third-round clash with Chelsea at Anfield.

"Style, completely, what a manager he is", Klopp said at a press conference. "We will have to see how he is before I make a decision".

"It needs to settle".

A starting front line of Firmino, Mane, and Salah will most probably be the staple feature at front, with Shaqiri rotating as an attacking midfielder or winger and Sturridge as a substitute for any of the aforementioned main three. The ankle was his problem after the Everton game years ago, so he will be back, I'm pretty sure next week or so.

More impressive, it's another cleansheet for the team.

WORST PLAYER - Considering the manner of Liverpool's win, it's hard to pick out a poor performer, although Andrew Robertson didn't quite hit the heights fans have come to expect.

Liverpool are two points clear of champions Manchester City after winning their opening six Premier League games for the first time. It's a blunt metric, but Liverpool has won 13 and drawn four of the 20 league games he has played, conceding 12 goals at an average of 0.60 per game.
