The largest iPhone to date - iPhone Xs Max with a 16.5-centimetre OLED screen also made its grand debut. The results look a lot like magic, to judge by the demo at Apple's Show and Tell event Wednesday.
It's good you asked.
Speaking of which, let's talk about the not-so-headline-grabbing iPhone XR.
Interestingly it's got a bigger screen than the XS, coming in a 6.1 inches. Apple is dropping the "Plus" that started with the iPhone 6 to highlight that this new phone features the largest display Apple has ever packed in a smartphone. It'll cost roughly $750 and come out on October 26.
The new Watches have a new back that offers a completely new electrical sensor that does an actual ECG to check your heart health.
Also worth noting is the fact that Apple's new iPhones no longer include a Lightning-to-3.5mm audio adapter. When that happened, Apple should have had a swallow-its-pride moment and just integrated the fingerprint scanner into the back of the phone where most people naturally rest their forefinger - where the Google Pixel devices put it.
The big news is there are three new phones and they're all huge: the 5.8-inch iPhone Xs, the 6.1-inch iPhone XR and the 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Max.
Water resistant and a 14.7 centimetre OLED screen - those are the key features of the new iPhone Xs (pronounced "ten-es"), Apple's head of marketing Phil Schiller unveiled.
Storage sizes for the iPhone XR will reportedly be 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. And just like on the iPhone X a year ago, you'll now swipe up from the bottom of the display in order to return to your Home screen. With curved corners, it's also slightly thinner, has more reliable reception and two times faster, thanks to a new processor.
The camera also benefits from the new power of the A12 Bionic processor, improved sensors, and improved image signal processor. It offers an hour and a half more battery life than the iPhone 8 Plus and features haptic touch and Face ID. It predicts average iPhone selling prices will rise by $20. "It will feel like they have a device that's modern because it will look like one of the new ones but not have the cost".
'The iPhone Xs Max price reflects the name.,' Twitter user @juhasaarinen wrote.
Both feature Apple's Face ID facial recognition technology, which Schiller said was the "most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone", and a redesigned rear-facing camera set up, consisting of a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto camera.
CEO Tim Cook and other executives announced the latest Apple hardware updates in front of a packed room of media members, analysts, special guests, and employees.
The iPhone XR does indeed support wireless charging.
