The event is only a few hours away and Apple is getting ready to add the new products to its website, so fans can reach for their wallets.

Apple is also expected to release an iPhone version made of cheaper materials, including a 6.1-inch LCD screen for customers keen on a more affordable device. The iPhone 8, which the new lower-cost iPhone X-like model is expected to replace in the line up, starts at $699 or $799 depending on screen size. The most affordable would be called the iPhone XR and the most expensive - iPhone XS Max.

Apple uses the "S" suffix when it upgrades components but leaves the exterior design of a phone the same.

Apple, which posted $53.3 billion revenue in its third quarter that ended on June 30, 2018, will unveil a raft of eagerly awaited new products on Wednesday.

Both phones will come in silver, space gray, and gold.

The iPhone XS has the biggest battery ever put in an iPhone. The iPhone XS Max may become the talk of the town if one were to go by rumors and speculations. Other than that, the Xs and Xs Max are almost identical.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook has touted fitness and health features of the company´s smartwatch, which dominates that market.

The new iPhones Apple will announce on Wednesday may have dual SIM card support, according to an image posted on China Mobile's Facebook page on September 6th. The chip is capable of 1 trillion operations per photo. Apple says the A12 will allow for "new experiences not possible before".

Apple's Phil Schiller introduced the new iPhones at their annual event. Apple didn't leave video out though, as you can now record stereo sound on the iPhone Xs.

"We still believe the smartphone market has some healthy growth in the years to come, although finding and competing in those markets and segments is increasingly more challenging", said IDC analyst Ryan Reith.

Preorders for the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will open this Friday, September 14th, with shipments slated to begin next Friday, September 21st.
