Meghan Markle's Dad Talks About The Lie He Told Prince Harry

"She also wants to take a bit of time out". That it would end in tears.

After weeks of being battered in the press by her own father, Meghan Markle is surely breathing a sigh a relief at this latest announcement.

In an explosive interview from earlier today (August 12), Thomas Markle confessed that he lied to Prince Harry about collaborating with a photographer to pose for the now-infamous photo shoot, which includes a photo of him being fitted for a wedding suit.

At the time, Mr Markle was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack and it had been revealed that he had staged a series of photographs for a paparazzo. He told Harry, however, that the photos simply showed him being "measured for a hoodie".

Thomas says Meghan and Harry knocked back his request to make a speech.

And though he accepts Harry was "absolutely right" to admonish him, he described the timing of the phone call from the Prince as "rude".

The former lighting director, 74, claims the couple "disrespected" him, with Harry telling him ignoring their advice not to talk to the paparazzi had landed him in a hard position.

According to Markle, Prince Harry said: "If you had listened to me this would never have happened'".

Doria is also said to have been impressed by the royal family, including the Queen, when she met them during her trip to the United Kingdom for Meghan's wedding.

Mr Markle said he told Harry: "Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead... then you could pretend to be sad". In fact, Prince Harry called him to ask questions and touch base with him about how he should conduct himself with the media. 'That hurt, ' he said.

In an interview with Marie Claire in 2013, she said: "I love to cook".

Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made it no secret they wish to start a family, but should there be any new royal arrivals there will be one notable difference between them and cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.

Kensington Palace declined to comment last night.
