Speaking to Global News, another resident, Dave MacCoubrey, said that he could have heard as many as 17 shots coming about 30 feet from his bed.
He described seeing police escorting people from their homes and said one woman had told him she heard what sounded like multiple gunshots just after 7am local time.
She also reported that people were being escorted out of the area by police.

Three blocks of Brookside Drive had been blocked off, with emergency vehicles at both ends and curious neighbours gathered. Stay inside, lock your doors.
