Joker Origin Movie Starring Joaquin Phoenix Gets a Release Date & Title!

Should a deal take, Beetz would take on the role of a single mother that attracts the interest of the man that will later become known as the Clown Prince of Crime. Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Richard Baratta, whose producing credits include Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street", are attached as producers.

The film will be called Joker.

What do you think about this potential identity of the Joker?

The actress, who recently played the superhero Domino in 20th Century Fox's Deadpool 2, is now in talks to join Warner Bros.' Joker, the Joker origin film that has three-time Oscar-nominee Joaquin Phoenix set to play Batman's arch nemesis.

This leaves us with just one question: if Robert De Niro really is involved in Joker, and he's not been earmarked for Carmine Falcone, who is he playing?

The Joaquin Phoenix helmed Joker movie had been given the working title Romeo. Let us know your thoughts in the comments! The DC movie is going to take place under a new banner outside of the DCEU and will be a moderately budgeted affair. Beetz has shown more of a dramatic side on Atlanta and she'll have more opportunities to show her range in the upcoming truth-based movies Pale Blue Dot and Against All Enemies and Steven Soderbergh's High Flying Bird. With that being said, a lower budget Joker Origin Movie with less pressure seems ideal for Joaquin Phoenix to come in and quietly command the role. The film begins production later this year.
