Sardinian hospital John Paul II says Clooney has already been discharged, according to NBC News.
Police said they had no information, and the hospital did not respond to requests for comment.
The 57-year-old was hit by a auto while riding his scooter on the island of Sardinia, officials confirmed to NBC News.
According to The Washington Post, Clooney was traveling from Puntaldia to Olbia along a state road on the Italian island Sardinia when the Benz failed to stop for a turn and knocked him clean off his scooter.
The vehicle driver called an ambulance which took Clooney to hospital, AGI added. In fact, the actor said in an interview past year that he fell in love with his wife Amal Clooney after meeting her in the area in 2013. A photo tweeted by the local news outlet shows a motorcycle beside a slightly damaged Mercedes and a fire extinguisher.
Sardinian newspaper La Nuova posted a picture from the scene showing Clooney's scooter, a Mercedes vehicle and a fire extinguisher with the caption: "George Clooney in hospital: With his bike he ended up hitting a auto that was turning".
The actor is now on the island filming a new TV series "Catch-22", based on the 1961 book of the same name written by Joseph Heller.
This is not the first time George has had a scary run-in on a motorbike - back in 2007, he and then-girlfriend, Sarah Larson, were involved in an even scarier crash in Weehawken, New Jersey.
