During E3, Microsoft unveiled FastStart for Xbox One, a feature that optimizes downloads so you can start playing before the download finishes. Simply find the FastStart-enabled title you want to play in our catalog, hit "Download" and your console will take care of the rest. Either way, this has made for a hilarious mistake to point out, especially since it's an Xbox-centric app with rewards localized to Microsoft customers.
This month's update introduces a variety of features and enhancements, such as FastStart for select titles, new Mixer options, Pins enhancement with Groups, new search options and more. This allows you to hop into a game more quickly after downloading only a portion of the full title. You can also assign custom names to each Group, organize and order them, and add individual Groups to Home.
Meanwhile, if you're looking for something, you can now just press the Y button anywhere in the dashboard to bring up the search dialog.
The July Xbox update launches later today.
In time for the Xbox One release, Scavenger Studios has added language localisations to the game, including French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Japanese, and Korean. The update lets you use mouse and keyboard support on PC, multi-touch support for touch-enabled devices, a viewer leaderboard to show the most active users on a stream, and full-screen broadcasting. The game also features a greater focus on survival, with the cold weather conditions as much a blight on player health as the guerilla-style combat. When you switch to this mode, game audio is muted automatically. Again, according to the FAQ, ready to start "is a feature that requires publisher work and may be an inconsistent experience from game to game", which the company is trying to avoid with FastStart.
