Leaving a "strong impression of quality and value", the glossy phone was produced using a new film coating process that's "never been attempted before in the smartphone industry". As yet there is no word on any future availability in Australia and with OnePlus making such stunning-looking - and performing - phones we can only hope that they decide to sell it directly to us sooner rather than later.
It's called Amber Red and it's, well, drop-dead gorgeous, featuring a polished (you guessed it!) red frame and rear; silver accents around the OnePlus branding, dual-camera setup and fingerprint sensor; and a black bezel surrounding the screen.
What's your opinion on this new color?
Furthermore, chances of a Mirror Red OnePlus 6 are particularly high if we consider last year's Lava Red OnePlus 6. Increasing the brightness of the red coating also proved to be a challenge for the team at OnePlus. There is a kind of power in red, which the OnePlus logo has always tried to articulate.
OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau announced in a forum post that the red edition of the OnePlus 6 will cost $579, which is the same price as the other versions. "We worked to avoid an overly bright red colour while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity".
OnePlus 6 Red has an amber-like effect at the back with an anti-reflective layer as well. Otherwise just pick one of the black options, or try to find a white one.
It's also slated to become available "across the globe" next week, although we obviously don't know how long sales will run. It's unclear if the OnePlus 6 will come in any other colors.
