The lawsuit - believed to be the first to challenge the administration's policy to criminally prosecute all adults suspected of illegally crossing the U.S-Mexico border - adds to the legal woes facing the Trump administration over its immigration policies. The families were separated under a policy implemented by the administration, which was ended yesterday by executive order after being announced in April. While many of them are unaccompanied minors, six were reportedly separated from their parents at the border. "And I would also like to ask you how I can help these children to reunite with their families as quickly as possible".

Mrs. Trump said she is eager to meet with the children at the facility as well.
It's not clear whether this jacket is a nod to those concerned that she is being too soft on immigration, or was simply a major wardrobe malfunction.
The Trump administration, meanwhile, has asked the Defense Department to provide space at military facilities by the end of the year to house 20,000 children who have arrived in the US without any adults. A clinician told her that they often enter very distraught, but calm down when they adjust to their surroundings.
"It's a process, yes", Trump replied.
He said: "Ivanka feels very strongly, my wife feels very strongly about it, I feel very strongly about it. They love to go school".
"Melania Trump is the wife of billionaire". "She wanted to see as close to what she had been seeing on TV".
The trip to Texas was the most high-profile public appearance Mrs Trump had made since undergoing a surgical procedure for a benign kidney condition on 14 May. "She knew what she wanted to do, and she told us".
