Rose McGowan indicted by grand jury in cocaine case

Cocaine was found in a wallet McGowan left behind on a plane past year, according to charging documents. The actress said she reported the wallet missing when she realized it was not on her person.

A grand jury in Virginia indicted actress and activist Rose McGowan Monday on one felony count of cocaine possession, according to online court records in Loudoun County, Virginia.

"Are they trying to silence me?"

Later that year an arrest warrant for McGowan surfaced, shortly after she publicly accused Weinstein of raping her.

She has pleaded not guilty to the crime, and maintains the drugs could have been planted as five hours had passed between McGowan leaving the wallet, which contained her ID card, and it being found by a cleaning crew.

She also cited reports that Weinstein hired private investigators to follow women who had made accusations against him. The airport found two bags of cocaine inside. She previously stated that she believes the wallet was taken from her backpack while she was travelling.

McGowan told Farrow she has used drugs in the past, but said marijuana was her "jam". "Imagining I'm going into sisterly solidarity, I can think of nothing more opposed to that, energetically, that I would want in my body at that moment", McGowan said at the time.

McGowan's trial date has ben set for Tuesday, June 12, one day after her indictment, but her attorney has waived her appearance.
