George and Charlotte goof off at William's polo match

Okay, okay, slight exaggeration but it is refreshing to see the royal family having a day out just like anyone else.

Sure Kate Middleton is the Duchess of Cambridge, but she is also a mother-of-three who finds herself on casual outings with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and now Prince Louis. The trio had a lovely time, with photographs showing them running around and smiling throughout the sunny event.

It looks as though the toy gun came as part of a classic "police set" as the youngsters can also be seen with a plastic baton and some handcuffs and Prince George is known to have a fascination with the police and emergency services. She wore a casually cool blue dress paired with wedges, a white bag, and a pair of sunglasses.

The royal family are the subject of criticism this week after pictures were published of Prince George brandishing a toy gun at a polo match.

The toddler, in an attempt to get a better view of the aircrafts flying over, tried to bend her head a little, making her little feet lose balance, and fell off the bench, hitting her forehead-making us all go awww.

Princess Eugenie's Revealing Instagram of Her Dad Breaks Royal Rule

We haven't seen Prince Louis since his portrait was released on Princess Charlotte's birthday; and while that's no major surprise, it does beg the question: when will the young prince be out in public again?

But don't think Charlotte was alone in all of the shenanigans.

George, who turns 5 in July, watched the match alongside Kate and showed her a slinky toy. Little George couldn't help but be shocked when seven-year-old Savannah got exhausted of the royal trying to sit with her and gave him a little push which sent him tumbling down the grassy hill, dropping his drawing.

Charlotte and George made the most of their day out.
