‘Dumbo’ First Trailer: Tim Burton Brings Disney’s Lovable Elephant to Dazzling Life

Will Burton find similar success with his next Disney tentpole, "Dumbo"?

(Titles like Pete's Dragon or Alice in Wonderland don't quite count because the original was either animated and live action, or have little to do with the previous iteration.) Disney hopes to keep this endless money train going with Dumbo. Following the successes of The Jungle Book, Pete's Dragon and Beauty and The Beast, Disney handles the reins of handling the Dumbo adaptation to the Academy Award-nominated director Tim Burton. Dumbo is adorable and will likely be a heart-breaker when the movie arrives next year. The new trailer includes shots of the circus and even a fleeting glimpse of Dumbo in flight. Burton personally chose the singer-songwriter to be involved in the film.

The 1941 classic was the story of a baby elephant who becomes the laughing stock of a circus because of his oversized ears but all of that changes once it is discovered that Dumbo can actually fly.

It's time to address the elephant in the room: This new trailer for Tim Burton's remake of Dumbo.

Colin Farrell is leading this film as a widower/father of two and animal caretaker Holt, opposite the (presumably villainous) ringmaster Max, played by Danny DeVito.

The "Dumbo" live-action remake opens March 29, 2019, in US theaters. "Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets".
