Alec has claimed in the past that Melania is a fan of his impersonation.
"If I ran, I would win".
The comedian said that while he would have the "funniest, most exciting, most insane campaign", he is hopeful that "somebody great" will run instead. "Hands down, I would win", Baldwin told Stern.

The actor and the president are somewhat connected.
"I'm only saying that [about running for president] because people really don't have a sense of who is gonna come up".
Baldwin did say, however, that he would love to run for that type of position. I mean, somebody great is gonna come up, I hope. "There are so many things that this country needs to do that are so obvious".
Stern raised the question of Baldwin being the hope of the Democratic Party, which he quickly refuted.
In a previous appearance on Howard Stern's show Baldwin said he was also considering making a one-man show on Broadway featuring his Trump impression.
"I want the Democrats to have a smart opposition to keep them on their toes", he said.
