E3 2018: Spider-Man PS4 Trailer Hints at Sinister Six

Share

Sony's Spider-Man has been thoroughly trailered over the last few years, but this year was less about Spidey and more about the villains, showing a gameplay sequence in which he faced Electro, Rhino, and Scorpion as they bust up and out of a prison.

It also shows off the game's free-flowing combat and open world gameplay, and it looks like a hell of a lot of fun to play.

Marvel's Spider-Man features your favorite web-slinger in a story unlike any before it. Including the last, unnamed villain, it would appear as though Insomniac is inching toward the reveal of their own Sinister Six. It's reminiscent of the likes of the PS2's Spider-Man 2, one of the most beloved movie tie-in games ever, albeit much more technically accomplished and utilizing the full capabilities of the PS4.

The trailer suggests that someone has been outfitting these supervillians with new technology, but we're not told who that is. It remains to be seen whether Yuriko's current incarnation will also don a costume, but Spidey needs as much help as he can get! While previous trailers have shown us Spider-Man swinging around Manhattan and going one-on-one with Mister Negative, this latest trailer throws many of Spider-Man's notable foes at him at the same time.

Everyone here at Insomniac is working hard to finish the game and ensure it lives up to your expectations on September 7, 2018. Share your theories below!
