Ubisoft's E3 2018 press conference is now underway, and the company wasted little time in getting to one of its most anticipated games: Beyond Good and Evil 2. There are rough-looking animals in a futuristic world and plenty of cool, high-tech ways to get around. The video didn't provide much in the way of new details about the game's storyline or gameplay, but it did feature a couple of familiar faces from the first Beyond Good and Evil, suggesting the game will have a much stronger connection to its predecessor than previously believed. Players will control their own custom space pirate, tasked with navigating from planet to planet doing general piratey things.
Among other coming games shown off by Ubisoft was psychological thriller "Transference", a collaboration with another Hollywood star Elijah Wood, which will see players grapple with twists and mysteries in a deranged mind. It certainly seems like the prequel is going to pitch Jade as a villain who needs to be saved and made into the hero we known in the original work. Ubisoft is asking fans to create art, music, and radio stations for the title and the publisher is working with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's HitRecord to make it happen.
"We want our community to participate in a way that's never been done before through the Space Monkey program, " said Guillaume Brunier, a senior producer at Ubisoft.
Alongside the new trailer, Ubisoft also announced that a Beyond Good and Evil 2 demo will be playable behind-the-scenes.
Ubisoft hasn't revealed a release date yet nor platforms.
