In recent news, GSC Game World has announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on social media.
An official website popped up early this morning with little more than a title and a date of "2021". Besides the number and moniker, nothing else has been announced yet. The post says nothing more about the upcoming sequel or game, but you can read it over right here if you want to. The game is set in a world where there was a second nuclear disaster in Chernobyl.
But to help quell concerns, the owner of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developers GSC Gameworld, Sergiy Grygorovych, confirmed via Facebook that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was real. Do you think S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be able to go head-to-head with similarly-themed franchises like Metro and Fallout?
There's bugger all info available at the moment, but fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. can rejoice: you're getting a sequel. Galyonkin implied that the game may be using Epic's Unreal Engine.
The franchise has usually released only on PC, but it is unknown if S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be making its way to consoles.
The last mystery worth bringing up is, will GSC Game World be the publisher of this game or will there be someone else helping the team? Unfortunately, those plans didn't pan out and the survival horror series has effectively been on ice since then.
