The Central Ruet e Hilal Committee will arrange a meeting for the sighting of Ramadan 1439 Hijri Moon.
In Karachi, sunset will occur at 7:10 PM and the moon will be observed till 8:11 PM.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department the crescent of Ramzan is likely to be sighted today (Wednesday).
Besides, Provincial and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would also meet in their respective areas to collect the evidence about sighting of the moon.
The weather will be partly cloudy in most parts of the country.
The PMD on May 4 had issued a handout stating that there are fair chances for the moon to be sighted on May 16 evening.
Mufti Muneeb made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Karachi after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee concluded its meeting.
Meanwhile, the Met Office had forecasted "fair chance" of sighting the moon.
In Saudi Arabia, Ramazan crescent was also not sighted on Tuesday therefore, the holy month will begin in Pakistan and Gulf countries on a same day.
Earlier the Australian National Imams Council declared that the holy month of Ramadhan will begin on Thursday.
Ramadan is the holy month of Islam and Muslims eagerly wait for the Ramadan moon sighting.
