Fujifilm has just announced the new Instax Square SQ6, the world's first analog square-format Instax camera. To celebrate the camera's release, Fujifilm and iHeart Radio will be holding a joint event in New York City on May 15.
With the SQ6, Fujifilm aims to achieve sales of nine million instax cameras globally this year, four times higher than the number of units sold in 2017. Hosted by Z100's Danielle Monaro, "A Night in NY" will also feature an intimate performance by singer-songwriter MAX, #1 hit song "Lights DownLow". Fujifilm announced it will also be releasing new Instax Square black instant film, which will feature a black frame.
The SQ6 will be available May 25, 2018, in Pearl White, Blush Gold, or Graphite Gray.
To make those shots even more special, Fujifilm is including three color filters - orange, purple and green - that fit over the built-in flash. For added usability when taking selfies, a smallmirror is located next to the lens to ensure accurate capture. The double exposure mode is capable of superimposing two images onto a single film when the shutter button is pressed twice.
The Fujifilm SQ6 boasts a 1:1 aspect ratio and is compatible with Fujifilm Instax Square film.
