What we do know about the new season is that someone is going to go to extreme lengths to keep the truth surrounding Hannah's death a secret.
Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah's death and the start of the characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. In one photo, Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe) takes the witness stand and holds up photos possibly of hers with the words "a drunk" and a "slut" written on them. According to series creator Brian Yorkey, those sexual assaults and the stories of the survivors will play heavily in season two, which will show what it is like to "go from being a victim of sexual assault to being a survivor of sexual assault".
What do the first images tell us? After the end of season one, fans were left wondering whether it's the lead character Hannah Baker's rapist or someone else was involved in her suicide. So many of these kids had been through traumatic experiences.

This theory is also backed up by other recent promotional images which have shown most of the original cast members excluding Tyler. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, 13 Reasons Why weaves an intricate and heart wrenching story of teenage life that will deeply affect viewers.
