According to Youtuber Adam Koralik, who was among them, SEGA revealed that the collection is being released at the price of 29,99 dollars, which should not be very surprising if you consider that, in terms of the technology put into place, it's just an upscale of the original games. A Shenmue HD remaster of the first two games has been announced. However, they will have improved textures, higher resolutions and PC gamers will be gifted a bunch of graphic enhancement options. The series, which debuted on SEGA's Dreamcast system in 1999, will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC later this year.
Furthermore, players will be able to choose between English and Japanese voice options.
Stay tuned for more news as it develops! While the title suffers from plenty of wonkiness and featured many ideas that the technology of the time simply couldn't handle, it's still one of those games that everyone must at least try to play at some point.
Personally, I'm just about ready to jump out of my skin over this, but it's tought to see it as much more than a nostalgia play towards those who were around back when Shenmue was the most unbelievable looking thing a console had ever pumped out onto a telivsion display. The game's lows were quite low, but its highs include some incredible sequences and awesome plot twists that help make it one of the greatest revenge stories of all-time.
We still don't have a release date for Shenmue I & II but we'll update our readers when Sega makes an announcement.
