Donald Glover to Headline SNL in May

It has been announced that the 34-year-old Atlanta star will be hosting the hit sketch show on Saturday, May 5.

The Glover-hosted episode will air at 11:30 p.m. EST on May 5, live from NY. The news was announced during the April 14 episode, hosted by John Mulaney.

However, because Donald Glover performs as musician using the name Childish Gambino, and May 4th and 5th are precious days to Star Wars fans around the world; people on Twitter chose to have a little fun with the news. Only a handful of people have held down both roles in SNL history; Glover will be joining the ranks of Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears, to name a few. Before that, he served as a writer on fellow Thursday-night comedy 30 Rock.

Childish Gambino's most recent album was 2016's "Awaken, My Love!", which earned Grammy nominations in the categories of album of the year and urban contemporary album, and just last month he announced a tour, which would be kicking off in Atlanta in September.
