"Norwell represents Gettleman's greatest hit as GM in Carolina, as he has ascended from undrafted free agent out of Ohio State to All-Pro status in a contract year in 2017", wrote Stapleton on Monday morning.
A league source told The Record and NorthJersey.com that Norwell has narrowed his choices to three finalists: the Giants, the 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts.
Norwell did not allow a sack, was Pro Football Focus' third-highest graded guard, and the top-graded pass-blocking guard in 2017.
Even though general manager Chris Ballard prefers to build through the draft, plugging holes in free agency is necessary and Norwell is a necessity to add this offseason.
The Colts number one priority should be protecting Luck when he returns next season, and it appears they are trying to do just that by making a push for Norwell.
