It shows bike sharing stations is over 175 cities in 36 countries.
Apple has added the ability to find bike sharing stations in its Maps app much more easily as it has integrated new data in over 175 cities. Nothing else is listed for cities like Vancouver, Calgary or Winnipeg. Typing "Bike sharing" into Apple Maps' search bar will find the stations of the local service, so you'll know where to pick up and drop off a bike.
In the UK, Apple Maps will guide you to locations in Bath, Belfast, Glasgow, London, Milton Keynes, Stirling and the University of Warwick. The update comes as Apple has struck a deal with data company Ito World.
It won't replace more sophisticated bike sharing apps for you.
Given the growing popularity of bike sharing services as a means of getting around cities both new and familiar, this is sure to be appreciated by Apple Maps users.
However, Apple Maps' new feature will shine when any bikers travel a new town and want to explore on a human-powered pair of wheels. This would require tight integration with the bike-sharing services themselves. How about a Citi Bike in NY?
