Bomb kills 4 troops, gunmen kill 2 police guards in Pakistan

At least four security officials lost their lives and several others suffered injuries as a result of an explosion in the outskirts of Quetta, DawnNews reported.

According to the reports, the blast hit a security forces camp in Khooni Talaab area in Quetta. "We are still investigating the incident and the exact nature of bombing will be determined after the report by bomb disposal experts", he said on anonymity. The injured were immediately shifted to Combined Military Hospital.

APP adds: Two police personnel were martyred and a child was injured when unknown armed assailants opened fire at vehicle of DSP Abdul Hameed Dasti at Smanguli Road area of Quetta on Wednesday.

Similarly, a police constable was shot dead by unidentified attackers on the city's Raisani Road on January 16.

He asked the government to conduct an immediate inquiry into the attack and added that Pakistan has sacrificed the most in the war against terror.

The group's spokesman Mohammad Khurasani said in a message that such drive-by attacks would continue, in revenge for the Pakistani forces' killing of their followers and death sentences handed down to convicted militants. "DIG Hamidullah Dasti, however, narrowly escaped", Razzaq Cheema told media persons after visiting the crime scene. Dasti was traveling in a bulletproof vehicle, but the guards were not.

A heavy contingent of police, Levies and Frontier Corps personnel have reached the site of the blast. The bodies and the injured were rushed to civil hospital where the victims were identified as Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Ayub.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on security forces in Quetta and expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of security officials. Lawyers' bodies observed boycott of courts to protest the terror incident.
