Final Fantasy XV DLC Rollout May Continue Into 2019

While many studios would be happy with a modest level of sales the Japanese-based company often demands absurd numbers - like their target of Final Fantasy XV's 10 million units.

Website Dengeki Online sat down with Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata in order to talk about where they would be taking the game next. The plan was to release three more episodes in 2018, beginning with the announced Episode Adryn. We know the release of these four episodes will likely extend until the end of 2018, but there's a chance that some of the DLC might not be ready until next year.

In an interview with 4Gamer (thanks, Gematsu), Tabata said the Final Fantasy 15 survey Square Enix put out in May a year ago revealed an "average player satisfaction rate" of 62.4%.

Players can expect the upcoming content to complete the Final Fantasy 15 Universe.

"After thinking with the team about with what kind of content we want to finish this game with, we chose to make it 4 new episodes", Tabata explained.

The game previously had three different DLC episodes, one for each other member of Noctis's party in order to show what happened to each of them while they exited the story for one reason or another. Those four episodes would provide some backstory and closure for some fan-favorite characters and seem like they'd be an excellent way to close out the game's story with.

In another interview with Famitsu, Tabata said other content separate from the current Episode options are in consideration.
