The contestants on Jeopardy! aren't exactly known for their pop culture prowess, and Thursday night's trio seriously dropped the ball when it came to their rap knowledge.
Contestants on USA game show Jeopardy! were left seriously stumped last night, after they failed to guess that Kendrick Lamar was the answer to a series of cryptic clues.
"Hitmaking was in his 'DNA.' He had 'LOYALTY.' He was 'HUMBLE.' & in 'LOVE.' - 'DAMN", host Alex Trebek said while reading the on-screen question. Over the past few years, they've failed to decipher clues about Paramore, Kurt Vile, Chromeo, Foo Fighters, and Frank Ocean, but you'd think they'd at least get Kendrick Lamar.
That became painfully apparent in this clip posted to Instagram, wherein a question from the "Recent R&B & Hip-Hop Hits" category was met with crickets from contestants Rob, Catherine, and Alan. This isn't the first time Kendrick has made his way onto the show, with Trebek rapping bars from "m.A.A.d".
"That would be Kendrick Lamar", Trebek told the group.
