Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are converging on Daura, Katsina State on Friday (today) for a crucial meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Daily Trust is reporting.
Also speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Gov. Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa, said they were in Daura to also sympathise with the president over the involvement of his son, Yusuf, in a ghastly auto-accident and the death of his two relatives.
Mr. Akande, who spoke after the Tuesday meeting with the president, denied that they met with the president over the 2019 presidential election, adding that they came to condole the president.
Saturday's meeting is expected to discuss the 2019 election which the president is expected to run.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Niyi Akande had on February 13 met with President Buhari behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said the governors also used the opportunity to commend the President for appointing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as APC Chief Mediator.
However, a source disclosed that the second meeting of Tinubu with the president in Daura on Saturday might go beyond mere condolence visit.
Some governors of the APC, Ministers had expressed support to the president should he decide to seek re-election in 2019.
Among his aides were Bashir Kankiya, Chief Security Officer to the President; Lawal Kazaure, the Chief Protocol Officer to the President and Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
The governors, who are Daura include: Kogi, Niger, Borno, Imo, Kaduna, Sokoto, and Kwara.
The President was received upon arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua International around 4:20 pm by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Abubakar Yahaya Kusada, and other government officials.
