Today's update, which is now live and playable, brings a host of new tweaks and goodies to the mix, on top of a special surprise for any PS4 players who want to express their true and blue colours with a touch more pizazz.
Battle Royale is now home to the Impulse Grenade, a new type of explosive that, following a brief delay, sends all players flying a long distance. You can get a glimpse at what it can do in the brief video clip below; it may lead to some hilarious match endings in the final circle. They can be found on the map and are looking similar to Chinese buildings, like their usually known architectural form. Meanwhile, Save the World has introduced new heroes and Dragon weapons themed around the Lunar New Year (also pictured below).
Other noteworthy changes to Battle Royale comprise some technical modifications for PS4 and Xbox Among players.
As for under-the-hood nips and tweaks, the highlight of Epic's 2.5.0 update on consoles is the addition of dynamic resolution and high quality temporal upsampling, created to improve performance on PS4 and Xbox One. It gets better. Xbox One X owners can enjoy everything in full 4K resolution.
As a belated Valentine's day gift to show their love for their fans, Epic Games has released their latest patch. Furthermore, several items are now less likely to drop, including the crossbow, minigun, and Chug Jug. One that quietly slipped in that many players will be happy to see is the inclusion of above and below sounds for footsteps on wood, metal and stone materials. However, it appears that the update has just become available. For a complete rundown on what is new, check out the whole patch notes here, or examine the idiotic new cosmetics now available.
