In a couple of days, the 2018 Winter Olympics will get underway.
Due to its high altitude, Pyeongchang's weather is especially severe, and this year's Games may set a record for being the coldest since the 1994 Games in Lillehammer, Norway. Athletes from North and South Korea will march under the Korean Unification flag during the Opening Ceremony. However, 169 athletes from Russian Federation will compete as "Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation".
$900 million: The amount generated in national ad sales for the Pyeongchang Games.
"The Winter Olympics is a great example of the breadth and depth of live sports that our subscribers can stream, with thousands of hours of premium content available this month thanks to our partnership with NBCUniversal", said fuboTV Head of Content Strategy & Acquisition Ben Grad.
Additionally, landmarks all over Vancouver, including the cauldron and plaza area, will glow red for the duration of the Olympic Games in PyeongChang. The team of John Morris of Canmore, Alta. and Winnipeg's Kaitlyn Lawes will go head to head with the USA before taking on China and Finland.
Twenty years ago, snowboarding debuted as a sport in the Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan. For non-early birds, the ceremony will be rebroadcast at 8-11 p.m. ET on NBC. They absolutely did; the last Nordic Games were held in 1926.
NBC is going to be the first television network to utilise a tool from Snap that enables them to stream snippets of live broadcasts directly into the Snapchat app. Those services are available on streaming devices, including Amazon Fire, Apple TV and Roku.
