Police are looking for 43-year-old Travis Kirchner in connection with the death of a 54-year-old woman who was found with significant injuries at a home at Murray Bridge, east of Adelaide. The blocked-off crime scene.
'Any person that discovered that crime scene could be left with no doubt it was a deliberate murder, ' he said.
Police say that she was "brutally murdered" after a passer-by saw a man attempting to kick down her door around 8pm.
The man is known to Police and they're urging him to seek advice from a solicitor and come forward. "We also appeal to any family, friends or acquaintances of the man to encourage him to hand himself in".
Police are now hunting for Travis Kirchner, 44, who they describe as being 176cm tall and weighing 81kg, of a slim build, with green eyes, and with short or balding brown hair with a possible rat tail "hanging out the back of his head".
He has numerous tattoos including a tiger on his chest and a panther on his right arm and was believed to be wearing a faded red T-shirt and jeans.
Neighbours reported it was a quiet night on the Murray Bridge street until police vehicles and ambulances began to arrive just after 8pm.
A woman identifying herself as Kirchner's niece posted to Facebook claiming her house was raided at midnight.
'Multiple people know who is responsible for this murder, .
"Occasionally you hear noises coming from there, arguments", he said.
