Despite winning six of its previous 10 games, Memphis came in with a thin roster due to injuries. Just eight players saw action for the Grizzlies, who at times looked worn out at both ends of the floor. Assistant coach Dan Burke will take over in McMillan's absence.
IN shot 71.4 percent in the second quarter. He shot 50 percent from the floor, 60 percent from deep and made all of his free throws. IN came up with the rebound and sealed it at the foul line with less than a second left.
The teams traded the lead nine times in the first half, with in taking a 55-53 lead into halftime. "Every single game, everybody has to come confident".
"It's frustrating. (I was) looking for some consistency", Bickerstaff said.
Marc Gasol's 3-pointer on Memphis' opening possession of the second half put the visitors back in front briefly, but the Pacers answered with a 3-point barrage of their own.
Turner had his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Point guard Darren Collison - who scored 30 points in a win in Memphis on November 15 - was also very effective early, scoring nine points on 3-of-3 shooting in the opening period, but the Pacers trailed Memphis, 25-21, after one.
All five Pacers starters ended up scoring in double digits.
"I'm not missing", Turner said he thought to himself. But on the Grizzlies' next possession, Bogdanovic converted a steal into a breakaway layup, then thwarted a Memphis opportunity with another steal. Selden led the Grizzlies with 24 points but was ejected with 0.7 seconds remaining after arguing he was fouled on his missed shot. "He attacks the basket, puts himself in a position to be fouled, goes strong to the basket, didn't get the whistle".
The Pacers held Memphis scoreless in the game's final 1:57 and knocked down 6 free throws in the last minute for the 105-101 victory. The Grizzlies allow the sixth-most points in the National Basketball Association, with opponents averaging 102.5 per game. "That shows how good of chemistry we've got in this group in this room".
Gasol also shot the ball effectively. Seldon's shot, on a drive with two seconds left, was blocked by Cory Joseph and left the Grizzlies bench in disbelief that no foul was called.
The end of the game had a ton of ugly plays. It was Bogdanovic's highest-scoring game since November 27 and he made several key plays down the stretch, including a key steal and score with 4:44 remaining and three free throws in the final second to seal the victory.
