Emberg appeared on The Benny Hill Show, The Lily Savage Show and Doctor Who in her long career, but she will probably be best remembered for her character Blunder Woman to Abbot's hapless superhero Cooperman in the 1980s.
Abbot, 70, said: 'It is with a heavy heart that I heard the news about Bella.

Chuckle, real name Paul Elliott, who performed in pantomime with Emberg remembered her as "the funniest fairy ever", while EastEnders star Fergsion said she was a "lovable and always an inspiration".
Comedy actress Bella Emberg had been considering embarking on new projects just days before she died, her agent has revealed.
In a TV career spanning six decades, she appeared in many classic shows including The Basil Brush Show, Z Cars, Father Brown, The Tomorrow People and Grange Hill.
The Brighton-born actress is most known for her role as Blunder Woman in the 1980s TV programme The Russ Abbot Show.
Speaking previous year in an interview with The Mirror, Emberg recalled trying on the Blunder Woman costume for the first time. I prefer to think of her as Wonderwoman to Blunderwoman.
"After it ended in 1996 I couldn't get work".
"I went for jobs and they'd say: 'We'd love to hire you but you're too well known with Russ, '" she told the paper.
One of the series' producers, Charlie Hanson, said Emberg was a "lovely and amusing woman" and a "brilliant" actress.
