Paige was originally scheduled to perform in the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match this month.
Going in Raw Stone Cold attacks Tyson, DX invade WCW with a tank.
She would wake up in a lot of pain, but tried to hide the injury from WWE so that she could still wrestle. She was brought back with great fanfare during a great Raw segment past year, helping to introduce NXT talents Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to the main roster as part of the Absolution faction.
PWInsider reports that Paige was told at this past Monday's RAW that she will not be able to return to the ring. She is well liked by management, so she should be kept on in some capacity behind the scenes. FCW would eventually transform into today's NXT brand, and Paige would become a huge star with the NXT crowd in short order.

Upon returning to WWE near the end of 2017, Paige turned heel and introduced a new stable known as Absolution, which also included former NXT Superstars Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose.
