Nobody on the planet expected a Toronto team missing Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka to completely embarrass the Cleveland Cavaliers 133-99 on Thursday night at the ACC.
But none of this really makes much sense.
Stephenson had 16 points and 11 rebounds to help IN erase a 22-point, first-half deficit and beat Cleveland 97-95.
But it wasn't until the backups assembled in the second quarter that the possibility of back-to-back blowout losses for the Cavaliers, who lost by 28 points to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, took shape.
The Raptors are now 2.5 games ahead of the Cavaliers at the midway point of the season.
The Raptors were led by sophomore point guard Fred VanVleet, who dropped 22 points in the absence of Lowry, though Delon Wright got the start at point. Victor Oladipo is averaging 24.6 points and 4.1 assists while Myles Turner is averaging 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds.
"The only thing is with my kids getting older, that's the only thing that kind of stops me from going as long as I'd like to", James said before the Cavaliers played the Toronto Raptors.
James has used that word to describe his teams in the past.
The Cavs would get the ball back with a second to go, but James can't bury a tough 3-point shot attempt similar to what he made in a win against the Washington Wizards last season. He also clarified his lashing out on the bench as seen in the video. "It's not for everybody". "We came out tentative for whatever reason. Family is not always about a bed of roses".
"We are in a funk", Cavs star LeBron James said of a 3-7 record since December 19.
Asked what he meant by "agendas", Lue declined to elaborate, saying he meant "just what I said".
The Cavs scored the first four points of the final frame to move back in front, but the Pacers retook the lead a coupe minutes later, thanks to Stephenson. "I don't (have an agenda)". Everybody talked about the three-point thing, I don't think he did it for them, I think it was more for him but it feels good to shut people up. Fifteen years. I don't know, I've been in this spotlight for half of my years.
The win moves the Pacers to 3-0 against Cleveland this year, and keeps IN in the 8th slot IN the East a conference so jumbled that the Pacers are just 2.5 games out of 4th, and 4 games behind Cleveland for the 3 seed.
"It's my 10th year", Love said. "When he's out, we have to execute better at both ends". But I'm sure whoever he's speaking of or speaking to with that, he'll address it, as we usually do.
Right now, Cleveland will just have to address these internal issues at a later time as they have another game tomorrow against the 8-seeded Indiana Pacers to close out their forgettable 3-game road trip.
