The MWC 2018 conference will take place from February 26 to March 1 2018.
There were rumors that the South Korean tech giant would unveil the phone at CES prior to the start of the show.
However, for three years prior to the Galaxy S8, Samsung used the popular MWC tradeshow to announce the latest iteration of its flagship Galaxy S series.
Despite citing 2018 the year to release a foldable device, Koh said that it will launch the device next year due to UX being the biggest obstacle in commercialisation. We are launching the device with metal and glass built in a segment that primarily features metal-built smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a 5.8-inch 2K SAMOLED display, while the bigger Galaxy S9+ will continue with a 6.2-inch screen.
Most of the rumours and reports suggest that the most noticeable cosmetic change will be a redesign of the fingerprint scanner, which was small and awkwardly positioned on the S8.
This is the leaked retail box of the Galaxy S9 or so says the reports
Samsung itself included a warning with the default camera app to remind users to keep the lens clean, since smudges can negatively impact picture quality. It has a 16MP+8MP front camera and 16 MP rear camera. The Galaxy S9 is expected to be unveiled in a new 512GB storage variant. Both the sensors enable the Galaxy A8+ to provide blurred background in images with a Bokeh effect. However, Samsung has gave out a tentative time by which we will see the S9 - the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona this February.
Under the hood, the smartphone should pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or the Samsung Exynos 9810 processor depending on the market.
- The rear camera is further assisted with video digital image stabilisation (VDis) technology, and includes a hyper lapse feature for enhanced time-lapse videos.
The Galaxy S9+ is also tipped to include the same dual-camera set-up that debuted with the Galaxy Note 8 earlier this year.
