And if all of this news wasn't exciting enough, executive producer Shonda Rhimes posted part of the script to Instagram to tease the upcoming episode. The HTGAWM episode was written by Morenike Balogun and Sarah L. Thompson and directed by Zetna Fuentes. Also of note, the Scandal crossover episode was directed by series star Tony Goldwyn. It is plausible, though far from confirmed, that the crossover will unfold across two episodes: one from Scandal season 7, and one from How to Get Away With Murder season 4. Kerry shared a photo of herself on the HTGAWM set with the playful caption, "Hey Ms @violadavis ❤️ check it out".
Washington and Davis first broke the news on their verified social media accounts, posting photos from the sets of the shows they are visiting. This spot look familiar?! The medical drama is now on its 14 season, and it seems that the Ellen Pompeo-starrer will not have a chance to team up with Washington and the rest of the "Scandal" cast.
Deadline reported the initial rumors of this crossover, pointing to the 2016 April Fool's joke that fooled people into believing a Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and HTGAWM crossover was brewing. While no exact date has been announced, it's no secret that Scandal is in it's final season - which means the crossover will absolutely be happening before the series comes to an end later this year.
Are you excited about the #HowToGetAwayWithScandal crossover? How To Get Away With Murder is in its fourth season.
