The Senate Intelligence Committee investigating possible Russian collusion in the 2016 election has requested documents from Green Party candidate Jill Stein, according to a report Monday. Richard Burr (R-NC) said Monday evening. Asked what he was looking for by investigating Stein specifically, Burr said, "Collusion with the Russians".
"Then I was told by Jill just to wait for further instructions", Trainor said, adding that he was told the campaign would contact him in the next week with instructions, presumably from the Senate Intelligence Committee, for executing the document search, including precise search terms. A former Stein campaign worker, Dennis Trainor Jr., told BuzzFeed he had been informed by Stein to expect to be contacted by the Senate.
"There's a lot of smoke around RT and not a lot of fire", Trainor said of the meeting.
The Senate is reportedly probing former presidential candidate Jill Stein for possible collusion with Russian Federation.
Stein was photographed with Trump's ex-national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the same table during a December 2015 dinner in Moscow.
He also thinks the committee might be interested in her appearances on RT, Russia's state-run media company. Stein has ducked questions about the matter.
In the same interview with CNN, Stein dismissed any concerned about Russian election meddling, saying, "This is routine..."
