President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Kano for a 2-day visit which paralyzed business activities in the state as shops and others places of busineses were locked while a mammoth crowd thronged to the airport.
"We have recorded tremendous successes in our efforts to achieve the three agenda of my government; security, economy, and fight against corruption", he said.
In his remarks, Governor Ganduje, who accompanied the President on the visit to the prison, also advised the inmates to conduct themselves well and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday pardoned 500 inmates of the Kurmawa Central Prisons in Kano metropolis.
"I am pleased with this visit and I have learnt a bit more about the conditions of the prisons and inmates", Garba Shehu, senior special assitant on media and publicity, said in a statement.
Mr. Buhari is also expected to meet with Ulamas and hold an interactive session with community leaders and politicians before returning to Abuja.
"I am overwhelmed by the sea of people I see, And by what I see today, if elections are contested I will no doubt win it".
