Police did not give a specific location as to where the actress purportedly took her life. The Ventura County Medical Examiner Media spokesperson EXCLUSIVELY revealed to HollywoodLife.com the cause of her death.
She also had a large social media following, though friends tell The Blast her prominent online presence may have contributed to her death.
While some of Ames' Twitter fans have begun publicly mourning her passing, others have blamed the gay community for covering her tweets, with one outright saying that "gay activists bullied August Ames into suicide because she tweeted she didn't wanna have sex with a gay man".
Ames immediately received backlash and was called homophobic.

August Ames, whose real name was Born Mercedes Grabowski, was born in Antigonish, Canada on 23 August 1994.
